(November 5, 2009) Don’t you mean you? Can Students Find You? How about you, Martha? Not where is your office, but can anyone really find you and – the biggie – actually talk to you? We all know you only want to hear good news, but no one can get to you for even that.
(November 16, 2009) Whither productivity? Dr. Lyman has been dutifully informing the Southern Miss constituents that he, Martha, and the school itself will no longer actively defend low-productivity academic programs
(November 19, 2009) GH Chatter There has been some chatter about the USMNEWS.net editor’s recent federal appeals court win (reversal and remand) in a case involving USM. (January 15, 2010) To the Top? Centennial Events Begin In addition to the events described in the President’s blog (like the basketball floor emblem) about Centennial events, there are others under way around campus. Martha has the groundskeepers in high gear – even in the sub-freezing temperatures – trimming the trees and shrubs in a new way. It is nice to know the budget and everything related to it are so under control that Martha has time to micro-manage campus greenery. One of the new looks is skinning the smaller trees and bigger bushes to a look that somewhat resembles a poodle clip. The top knot of green on the trees makes one wonder if this is not a visual reminder of “To The Top!”
