(August 1, 2008 ) MOB Index Update On July 23rd this blog was posted:... First, that summer reading list must be getting whittled down by the lack of activity posted. Second, it has been over a week since the last post. Isn’t this normally a busy, activity-filled time for the president? It is the end of the summer semester and only a few weeks away from the fall semester; surely everyone is busy doing things, right? And third, given all this, and this post on the 23rd, the MOB Index score is low again; let’s call it a 1 because this post is about as innocuous as one can get.

(August 6, 2008 ) Closer, Indeed . . . to the MOB Cellar It's getting closer...MOB Index score of 1. Martha is in fine form, if this is what you desire in a university president’s blog. It is obviously what she wants. This must also mean the summer books are read and it is time to rev up the social calendar once again. My, Dr. Saunders must be all atwitter at the mere thought of it. As many USM students would say: Whatever.

(August 14, 2008 ) Another 1 on the MOB Index Waiting for the bridge to dry... Many problems must be facing Martha and the Domers given this post. Many have questioned the urgent desire to send USM faculty members to surrounding junior colleges. Others would like to know why the Dome-mandated online classes cannot fill this role. Most faculty and staff are interested in enrollment numbers for the fall semester. And yet we get the bridge will be painted when the wood gets dry. Oh well, at least she did not try to rhyme anything this time.

(August 14, 2008 ) MOB Index Score Look, girls, I met another famous person! Lt. Governor's visit leaving your office, but no photo with you. Oh well, “beloved” is beloved. BTW: can you really love someone you do not know? It is a shame he had to dash off before he could co-judge something with you. Maybe at homecoming. JMO, but isn’t it embarrassing at this point that the Trent Lott Center is not completed? MOB Index Score of 2 for the photo (even without a mention of the (non-beloved?) other man in the photo).

(August 27, 2008) CoB News, 27 August 2008 First the Boudoir, Now the Luxury Suite After writing that some of the new luxury suites in USM's M.M. Roberts Stadium were not yet complete, The Hattiesburg American's reporter, Alan Hinton, pointed out that USM president, Martha Saunders, didn't seem worried (with just one week before the season's opening date). As Hinton indicated in his 24-August-08 article, "Suites officially unveiled," Saunders didn't seem worried about the 34 suites that are leased for $26,000-$31,000, the 500-seat club level, or her suite. Instead, she stated to Hinton, "Look at this picture. It was a gift from students at my inauguration. It's perfect here [in my luxury suite]. And we have a photo on the wall at the other end of the suite. . . "
