Reports for September 19 - 23, 2011
Over the past several years, usmnews.net has published literally thousands of reports from current and former faculty who
share my belief that USM has ineffectively and inefficiently employed far too much of its resources, both in terms of
money and people. The purpose of usmnews.net is not to provide a public relations view. That is amply supplied by The
University of Southern Mississippi's public relations department.
Based on recommendations from usmnews.net's readers, we are relaunching usmnews.net. Your comments, criticisms,
recommendations and news are greatly appreciated. Also, as we troubleshoot links, please let us know if you find any
broken or missing links.

court, this time in his capacity as dean of business at the
University of Texas – Tyler. (Note: University of
Texas-Tyler has denied the allegations of the Complaint.)
Air it Jordan A Guest Editorial by Victoria Tyler In his
20-Sept-2011 letter to the editor of The Student Printz
entitled “Student Eagle Club seating,” USM student
Jordan Moore goes all out in explaining how the USM
administration’s handling of game day seating for the
new Student Eagle Club has been divisive and
demoralizing. Moore opens his letter with: “The Student
Eagle Club is a good idea. The way they’re attracting
members isn’t.” To boost membership, the new Student
Eagle Club (SEC) secured the assistance of the USM
administration in altering seating in the student section at
M.M. Roberts Stadium (i.e., “the Rock”) in order to
provide SEC members priority seating. As Moore sums it
up,

Dear usmnews.net, I have no doubt that many of us who
date back to Doty's days at the College of Business at
USM read the recent report about Doty's most recent foray
into litigation at UT-T with considerable chagrin.
