More on the Nail/Parisi Story From the Alabama Side of the Equation
KCBD TV is now reporting that Dr. Franco Parisi, at the center of a
Title IX, sexual harassment investigation is no longer teaching at the
University of Alabama. According to a statement received by KCBD
from University of Alabama media relations: "Dr. Parisi taught class
for two days of each course he was scheduled to teach this summer
before the university and Dr. Parisi agreed last week that it would be
best for him not to teach due to allegations being made in Texas. We
don't plan to comment further on this since it involves a personnel
matter."
Tim Hudson, another former USM administrator, under investigation
Here we go again. Another USM administrator-alum is under a cloud
of suspicion. This time it's Dr. Tim Hudson, former USM provost,
currently Chancellor Arkansas State University. Dr. Hudson is being
audited with regard to international travel, among other things
(Jonesboro Sun Times, May 29, June 9, 11, and 12, 2016). An
anonymous tip provided references to the Jonesboro Sun Times
reports along with the following comment: "Over the last several
weeks, the Jonesboro Sun Times has had several articles about him
and his wife DeeDee ..."

Dear usmnews.net, The links to the Arkansas stories about
(former USM Provost) Tim Hudson were interesting. As an old
timer, I have to say it doesn't come as much of a surprise. The
whisper campaign around campus was that Tim liked to spend
Foundation money because there was no way to see what he was
doing.

A UHV faculty sent usmnews.net a copy of a letter from AAUP
President of the Texas Conference to the Provost "convey[ing] ...
concern about reports of coercion of untenured faculty members in
the School of Business Administration (SBA) at the University of
Houston-Victoria (UHV)." We know who the Dean is...Farhang
Niroomand. We also know about his history of threatening and
bullying faculty when he was an associate dean at the CoB at
Southern Miss.

Niroomand looking to escape Texas? A few days ago, a reader
drew our attention to a potential attempt by Harold Doty to escape
Texas. More recently, we were advised that Farhang Niroomand,
former associate dean at Southern Miss and current dean of
University of Houston -- Victoria was also looking to move on. We
trust the faculty at Waukesha will inquire about Niroomand's
history of threatening and bullying faculty.

Wouldn't You Love to Have Been a Fly on the Wall When Nail
Explained Why He Was No Longer Dean at Texas Tech? On May
25, San Diego State University announced that "Lance Nail has
been named the new dean of San Diego State University's Fowler
College of Business. Nail previously served as dean of the
business schools at both Texas Tech University and the University
of Southern Mississippi." What the report fails to mention is the
dubious circumstances of Nail's final days as dean at Texas Tech.
As usmnews.net previously reported, Nail was relieved of his
duties in the wake of a grade changing scandal which was quickly
followed by his ignoring/cover-up of sexual harassment claims
against his friend and colleague Dr. Franco Parisi.

Dear usmnews.net, A few months ago, you published articles about
Farhang Niroomand [currently Dean of the College of Business,
University of Houston - Victoria] being considered for the deanship at
Marshall University. You never told us how that turned out.

Another Secret Presidential Search Another Recipe for Disaster JSU
has a new President. On Wednesday, May 31, 2017, the IHL once
again crammed someone down the throats of faculty, students and
alumni after yet another secret presidential search. Stated in IHL-eze,
JSU was told the "preferred" candidate was William Bynum, currently
President of MVSU was to be their presidenent. He came to campus to
smile and be vague while talking about an unspecified "vision" for the
future. As reported by the Clarion Ledger, "Bynum attempted to win
over students and alumni, saying he is a God-fearing, God-loving
man, who believes in faith, family and the future of higher education."

A Matter of Trust, part 3, A colleague from South Alabama reminded
usmnews.net of issues associated with Alvin J. Williams' [lack of]
credibility. As Interim Chair and Distinguished Professor of
Marketing, he makes decisions about faculty, including
recommendations to terminate tenured faculty based on what he
admitted under oath to be fabricated cause. We are going to run a
series of articles for your review. If you question whether these reports
are taken out of context, please send a request for a complete copy of
William's depositions. Here is the question, as a member of his
faculty, do you have any reason to worry about his credibility or his
decision making? See A Matter of Trust, part 1, Matter of Trust, part 2.

Farhang Niroomand Some Things and Some People Seem Never to
Change, part 2 usmnews.net has been provided with a copy of the
response to The Victoria Advocate's Texas Public Information Act
Request dated May 5, 2017. . . There can be little doubt that the
documents paint a portrait of a university in considerable disarray.
One factor cited in the survey is Dean Farhang Niroomand.
(usmnews.net's readers are familiar with Dr. Niroomand's history of
bullying and favoritism during his time as associate dean at Southern
Miss' college of business.) See also, part 1

A former colleague of Dean Farhang Niroomand sent the following
editorial. Many of us who have had the misfortune of working with
Niroomand first laughed, then recalled the bullying and threats used
at Southern Miss to keep subordinates in line. Over the next several
days we will add more information relevant to this editorial.
UH-V SBA Faculty Loyalty Pledge I, ____________________, hereby
pledge my allegiance to Farhang Niroomand, Dean of the School of
Business Administration at the University of Houston – Victoria. In
doing so, I affirm that it is only through the infinite benevolence of
Farhang Niroomand that I have a salary, health benefits, and a
retirement plan with which to support myself and my family. I also
recognize that any raise I am to receive, whether secret or made
public, comes only through his grace, and that I am entitled to nothing,
including the air that I breathe, which comes only through his grace as
well. Whether I teach online or face-to-face, in Victoria or in Katy, I am
forever indebted to my supervisor, Farhang Niroomand.
