vision for the CBA was one filled with research and an improved regional and national image.

(May 5, 2007) CoB Civility 101 by Duane Cobb Now, about 25 days into the Alvin Williams regime in the CoB, we learn just what
Williams' plan for "getting civility back into Joe Greene Hall" was all about. It's too bad the plan was such an utter failure, and
that May 4, 2007, was about as sorry a day as the CoB has seen in quite some time.
(February 10, 2008) And then who? Tony Henthorne, current Chair of about half of the CoB, is making it clear to anyone who will
listen that he does not want to be Chair of MKT/MGT/FM next year. He received no extra money for this job, he claims, and did it
as a favor for Interim Dean Williams (as speculated here previously). Given the rocky year at the helm, it is no wonder he seeks
the relative solitude of only Tourism Management. It is time to enjoy the fine new suite the CoB provided for him. Before moving
on to the proposed post-Henthorne year(s), let’s recap some of the low-lights of the year for Dr. Henthorne:
(May 1, 2008) Those (Dotys) Whom CoB Administrators Hath Joined Together (on the Cob Payroll) Let No Man (Dissenter) Put
Asunder The prevalence of spousal hires in the CoB has been a subject of interest to CoB faculty for many years. The recent
departures of Stephen (FIN) and Dana Haggard (MGT), to Missouri State University, and Barry (MKT) and Laurie Babin (MKT),
to Louisiana Tech University and University of Louisiana – Monroe, respectively, bring this subject back to the forefront. This
report examines what remains of the CoB’s spousal duos with these two sets of departures.
(February 11, 2009) EFIB Bites Fractured Real Estate The CoB's real estate program, which currently resides in the EFIB, is slated to
become (beginning 2009-10) part of FINRELS under dean Lance Nail's IHL-approved reorganization of the CoB. Under current
EFIB chairman George Carter's stewardship, sources say that the RE program has been largely devastated. A number of events
have transpired that have been detrimental to the program: (1) the loss of assistant professor Sean Salter, (2) the separation of
business law from the EFIB, (3) the fracturing of RE instruction, and (4) the failure to foster inter-departmental relationships that
could benefit the RE initiative.
