(April 27, 2009) "Congratulations Harold and Susan" The title used above is the title of CoB dean Lance Nail's 27-April-09 e-mail to CoB faculty announcing that the University of Texas – Tyler has hired former CoB dean, and current CoB management professor, Harold Doty, as its new College of Business and Technology dean. Nail's announcement capped a busy day in USM's CoB, as earlier reports from Greene Hall had Doty already throwing books, journals and other academic materials out into the JAG hallway in preparation for his move west.

(April 28, 2009) Doty Already in a Hole How the Decision to Place Susan in ECO at UT-T will Ultimately Hurt Harold Former CoB dean, and current CoB MGT professor, Harold Doty has been Dean-elect of the b-school at the University of Texas - Tyler only about 24 hours and already he's in a hole as far as b-school faculty there are concerned. It seems that the placement of Harold's wife Susan (shown below) in the ECO unit at UT-T was as big a surprise to U-T b-school faculty as it was to many of our readers who were greeted this morning (28-April-09) the USMNEWS.net report entitled "Congratulations Susan and Harold", which broke the story on Susan's imminent place on the UT-T ECO faculty.

(May 5, 2009) Brandt in Two In and Around USM’s College of Business The loss of Susan Doty (ECO) from the EFIB marks the 60th CoB faculty to leave the CoB since the beginning of the Harold Doty administration in 2003. Susan Doty will join the economics department at the University of Texas at Tyler in August-09. Susan's husband Harold, the former CoB dean (2003-07), will become dean of business and technology at UT-T in just a matter of days from now.
