And, with the hiring and firing and "friendraising" efforts Carter has made over the past two decades, he may indeed pull it off before it is all over. This column is Part 3 in a three-part series of opinion pieces that will attempt to explain just how Carter may pull off the coup that some in the CoB are hoping for and others are nervous about.

(October 28, 2008) CoB News, 28 October 2008 One of Posey’s Publications Located Long-time readers of USMNEWS.net are well aware of the dubious claim made (on the USM website) by the Morgan Distinguished Professor of Accounting Roderick Posey to have “more than 100” publications on accounting-related topics. Since Posey’s claim was made public, USMNEWS.net reporters have been able to locate only one or two of Posey’s publications. One of these is his 2006 paper entitled “Computer Security Checklist for Non-Security Technology Professionals.” This paper was published in the Journal of International Technology and Information Management, which is edited by the CoB’s own Chang-Tseh Hsieh, the McCarty Distinguished Professor of Information Systems.

(January 13, 2009) Coast Cabal Monday Meetings? There are not many accounting course offerings on the Coast campus. Isn’t it strange that there would be three offered at the same time on the same day? Steve Jackson, who is only teaching on the Coast in the spring, Charles Jordan, and Roderick Posey all have Monday classes from 3:30 to 6:15 p.m.

(January 13, 2009) A 31st & Pearl Special Series The Posey Standard A Look at How the CoB is Governed by Exceptions, not Rules If you visit CoB accounting professor Roderick Posey's bio on the USM webpage you'll read that Posey has "published more than 100 articles in several publications related many accounting issues." If you try to find them via an Internet search, you'll get hung up somewhere around two or three. All 101 or so of them can't be found. Believe me . . . it has been tried. Many have attempted it, and failed.
