(August 20, 2006) Special Report Crockett & Family in the Music City An Investigative Series
on CoB Travel "This "Special Report" continues a multi-part examination of Employee Travel
Vouchers in USM's College of Business. In this report, we examine the details of a trip made

Posey, and James Crockett. The details of this trip are interesting, as readers will see
below...".
(May 17, 2007) Special Report If Posey Gets to be a Full, Why Can’t Pate? An Investigative Series on CoB Faculty
Research Credentials Reporters at usmnews.net have compiled a table that begs an interesting question: If Roderick
Posey gets to be a full professor of accounting, why can’t Gwen Pate? That table – Table 1 below – presents the
refereed journal articles produced by Posey and Pate over their respective careers at USM. As the bottom of the table
indicates, Posey began at USM in 1979, and earned his Ph.D. one year later in 1980. He was promoted to professor in
1991. Pate began (tenure-track) a little later, in 1990, earning her Ph.D. the following year (1991). She has been an
associate professor of accounting since 1997.
(May 18, 2007) Special Report If Duhon Gets to be a Full, Why Can’t Pate? An Investigative Series on CoB Faculty
Research Credentials Reporters at usmnews.net have compiled a table that begs an interesting question: If David
Duhon gets to be a full professor of management, why can’t Gwen Pate be a full professor of accounting? That table –
Table 1 below – presents the refereed journal articles produced by Duhon and Pate over their respective careers. As
the bottom of the table indicates, Duhon began at USM in 1988, though he earned his Ph.D. several years earlier in
1981. He was promoted to professor in 2006. Pate began (tenure-track) a little later, in 1990, earning her Ph.D. the
following year (1991). She has been an associate professor of accounting since 1997.
(May 31, 2007) More Publishing Mysteries in the SAIS What Pate and Henderson Claim, and what the (SEDONA)
Records Show Now that the spring 2007 versions of CoB faculty SEDONA vitae are circulating within the CoB, more
and more "mysterious" entries are being uncovered and discussed. One of the latest concerns two refereed journal
articles in the SAIS -- one claimed by associate professor of accounting Gwen Pate, and the other claimed by associate
professor of accounting (and former USM VP of Finance) James Henderson.
(July 11, 2007) 31st & Pearl Black Knew Then What We Know Now So many CBA faculty thought it completely silly
that, during the Ty Black administration of the college, faculty had to submit actual copies of their scholarship at
annual review time. The running joke was that it was bush league, that reputable schools don't operate in that way.
Well, Black knows people, at least CoB (then CBA) people, as good as or better than most. Black knew then that
co-authors would mix up the citations of their work, as we saw in last year's Sedona records for Stephen Bushardt,
David Duhon and Francis Daniel. Black knew then that the accountants could appear to be shifty in reporting their
accomplishments.
