(October 26, 2011) The Headless Horseman Rides Again An Editorial from Victoria Tyler CoB dean Lance Nail
must feel like the headless horseman heading into the CoB’s 2012 AACSB re-accreditation season. That would be
because the list of tenured associate and full professors from the CoB’s rank-and-file (non-administrative) faculty
has dwindled down to endangered species levels. The actual list, for interested readers, is provided below, with

(November 3, 2011) . . . breaking news . . . Nail Hits CoB’s AACSB Accreditation on the Head HATTIESBURG –
Reports coming out of USM’s business college suggest that the AACSB Peer Review Team was more than
pleased with what they saw earlier this week in USM’s CoB. As a result, they have reportedly given CoB dean
Lance Nail and USM president Martha Saunders the preliminary word that USM’s CoB will hold on to its AACSB
accreditation for at least another five years.

ago, CoB dean Lance Nail did what former CoB dean Harold Doty failed to do, and that is achieve AACSB
accreditation for the CoB on his first attempt
(January 30, 2012) GH Chatter Will he, or won’t he? There’s always some talk about CoB dean Lance Nail
moving on, and up. With a successful AACSB reaccreditation under his belt, that chatter is only increased.
However, with a CoB tenure under 4 years to date, a departure for Nail may be a bit down the road from
now. Still, it is often common to play the “what if?” game – would former CoB associate dean Farhang
Niroomand be a replacement candidate?
