(May 30, 2008) CoB News, 30 May 2008 Myron Henry Blasts Mary Anderson's Bro Reports of USM's push to outsource the Physical Plant continue to hound administration officials at USM. In a recent post to the USM Forum -- to build trust, a team and a campus --Message Board, former USM Provost Myron Henry publicly criticizes (see below) the plan and USM Chief Financial Officer Joe Morgan's support of it. Morgan is the brother of CoB assistant professor of accounting, Mary Morgan Anderson. Both are children of the "Morgan" in the CoB's Morgan Distinguished Professorship in Accounting, an honor currently held by accounting professor Roderick Posey of "more than 100" accounting publications infamy.
(April 23, 2009) Dear Skip: Mary Anderson has a brother named Joe Morgan who is the Vice President for Finance at Southern Miss. Many reports say she has threatened to go to him – and has gone to him – when she does not get her way. Without question she believes you will be sitting in her chair, i.e., her daddy’s chair. Be prepared for it. You and the dean may want to map out a strategy in advance so when it happens, and Nail is out of the office, you know you are green-lighted for action. Do not let her publications fool you. Ask her to publish some articles without her dissertation chairman; see what happens.

President Saunders Accepts CFO Morgan’s Resignation HATTIESBURG – USM president Martha Saunders informed the campus community on 4-May-2010 that she had accepted “the resignation” of USM chief financial officer Joe Morgan, effective 30-Aug-2010. Calling Morgan “a long-time and loyal member of the Southern Miss family,” Saunders wished him well in his future endeavors through her communiqué with the USM community.
