DEVELOPING STORY HATTIESBURG --- The usmpride.com News offices have recently received a number of tips regarding the campus-wide Internet (network) outage that occurred at USM over the days leading up the beginning of spring semester 2007. Tips indicate that the problem originated inside the College of Business’ Joseph Greene Hall. Specifically, sources report that the problem occurred in the Graduate Business Student Computer Lab, wherein both ends of a cable were mistakenly plugged into the same router box.

DEVELOPING STORY February 19, 2007 HATTIESBURG --- Sources inside both the CoB and the CoEP have informed usmpride.com News that the early stages of a plan to move the Department of Psychology at USM into the CoB have been put together. According to sources, CoB Dean Harold Doty had been working with former CoEP Dean Willie Pierce to revive the CoEP's PhD program in Industrial Psychology. However, with the ousting of Pierce a few days ago, that plan was shelved.
(February 19, 2007 ) The Economics Story is Getting Old Shortly after the AACSB peer team left campus I was told by a junior faculty in my department that in a meeting with young faculty a junior faculty in economics bragged to peer visitors about the research in economics. To those outside of economics, this story is getting a little tired.

(March 22, 2007) Art Bedeian on "Dean's Disease" With Commentary by Duane Cobb Arthur G. Bedeian is an academic known to many in USM's College of Business. A management professor, and former editor of the Journal of Management, his name is widely known within the management group in the CoB. Bedeian's LSU connections make him known to others, such as Barry and Laurie Babin in marketing.
