(March 26, 2008) Is it Me, or Does Danny Arnold's Vitae Smell Like Fish? by Duane Cobb The second CoB Dean
finalist, Danny Arnold, is coming to visit USM's campuses next week. Arnold, the current b-school Dean at Frostburg
State University and member of the CoB's 2006-07 AACSB Peer Review Team, has been the subject of reports and
editorials here at USMNEWS.NET since his candidacy was predicted weeks ago by USMNEWS.NET staff.
(March 30, 2008) 31st & Pearl Restructuring Redux Restructuring of the College is a topic of conversation in the CoB.
Everyone believes logic dedicates that what they want should happen under the next dean.
(March 30, 2008) Reading a “Dean’s Message” A recent visit to the Frostburg State University College of Business
website led us to the “Dean’s Message.” The banner below immediately caught our eye:
(March 30, 2008) Dear USMNEWS.net, The recent column by Duane Cobb regarding Danny Arnold’s vita was on the
money. Arnold’s vita virtually screams, “I’m rearranging deck chairs…don’t bother me with real academic issues.” If

Mr. Bacon using six moves (usually pertaining to movies) or less. An example would be:
(March 31, 2008) CoB News, 31 March 2008 Invisible CoB Previous reports at USMNEWS.NET have shown how the
CoB is disappearing when it comes to being part of the academic life of the University of Southern Mississippi. Last
week’s 98th USM Founders Day celebration was no different, as President Martha Saunders, VP of Student Affairs
Joe Paul, and Provost Bobby Middlebrooks distributed about a dozen student awards in four categories: Outstanding
Freshmen (1 female, 1 male), Outstanding Citizen (1 female, 1 male), USM Student Hall of Fame inductions, and the
Phi Kappa Phi Silver Bowl Award. If you attended last week’s celebration, then you know that not a single one of
these awards was given to a student in USM’s College of Business -- the only USM College to carry the distinction.
