(April 21, 2007 ) Move Over Boys When Mark Klinedinst arrived at USM in the mid]1980s, relatively fresh from his doctoral studies in economics at Cornell University, his wife boldly informed his new USM colleagues that they would need to move over and make room for the man who would soon be publishing regularly in the likes of the American Economic Review and numerous other top]shelf economics journals. Some snickered, all waited and watched for the display of talent from the uberhire who stood before them. It never came.

(May 15, 2007) Special Report If Klinedinst Gets to be a Full, Why Can’t Green? As the bottom of the table indicates, Klinedinst began at USM in 1985, and earned his Ph.D. two years later in 1987. Green began a little earlier, in 1983, earning his Ph.D. the following year (1984).

(August 27, 2007) 31st & Pearl EFIB Political Waters Safe Again for Klinedinst To hear some EFIB faculty tell it, when it came to faculty governance votes economics professor Mark Klinedinst historically cast the lone vote for a committee governance structure. The rest of the department historically cast ballots for the .chair only. option.
(September 6, 2007) Ranking Journals Raises Temps by Duane Cobb The recent 31st & Pearl column about the politicization of the current journal ranking process is only the latest example of how temperatures rise when it comes to ranking journals in the CoB. Clearly, the columnist in question has strong feelings about the process, as do others.
