(November 11, 2006) The New Economics/Finance Major in the CoB In Tuesday’s EFIB Faculty Meeting (11/7/06), Professor of
Economics Bill Gunther suggested some alterations to courses in the economics and finance course listings. Gunther stated that
by cross listing some courses as both economics and finance courses, the economics major might be revitalized. Let’s take a look
at his proposed changes.
(December 13, 2006) GUNTHER’S PERMISSION SLIPS The previous installment of The Gunther File (“The Gunther
Timeline”) showed that former CBA Dean, and current professor of economics/Director of the Bureau of Business and Economic
Research, William Gunther spent a significant portion of his stint as CBA Dean under contract with the University of Alabama.
Gunther earned more than $20,000 from the University of Alabama by teaching in the U of AL Executive MBA Program between
1 October of 1998 and 15 April of 2000. The relevant portion of the timeline figure presented in installment #1 of this series is
shown below:
(December 13, 2006) 31st & Pearl CoB Money-Grubber The recent revelations of former CBA Dean William Gunther's teaching
activities throughout the tri-state area over the past few years must be vindicating to all those -- and there are many -- who have
stated that very little outside the area of fundraising was ever accomplished during Gunther's administration of the College. How
could there have been? It must've been next to impossible for him to keep track of where he was supposed to be at any given
moment.
(December 15, 2006) THE GUNTHER TIMELINE This report details the employment records of former CBA Dean William
Gunther. Investigators at USMPRIDE.COM have obtained a significant amount of paperwork from various institutions that
relate to Gunther’s employment history since becoming Dean of USM’s College of Business Administration in the late 1990s.
Those records are used to build a timeline of Gunther’s obligations. The timeline (1965 – present) is shown below (it is a work
in progress):
