EVELYN GREEN, INSTRUCTOR, TOURISM MANAGEMENT
(November 5, 2007) CoB News, 5 November 2007 According to a USM presser, the CoB's own Evelyn Green, instructor of tourism management, has been working to give Gulfport High School students a "glimpse into career opportunities in the tourism industry . . ." The 2-Nov-07 presser, written by Charmaine Williams and entitled "High School Students Discover Possibilities in Tourism Management from Southern Miss instructor," is inserted below:
(October 7, 2008) CoB News, 7 October 2008 Evelyn Green on USM Faculty Senate Though some CoB faculty may not be aware of it at present, CoB tourism management instructor, Evelyn Green, is among the CoB representatives on the USM Faculty Senate.
(February 18, 2009) Tours and Travel -- TM is All About Fun Now by Duane Cobb The recent report on the demise of the CoB's tourism management program under former CoB dean Harold Doty's leadership hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately, the disaster that now remains of the TM program at USM landed on Nail's head back in July-08.
(February 18, 2009) The Dotys are Vulnerable . . . . . . . Maybe How Kicking ECO 336 to the Curb may Impact Some CoB Faculty Members Now that the CoB has voted to eliminate the ECO 336 (international economics) requirement in the core curriculum, more than just former CoB economist Charles Sawyer's textbook income will likely be impacted.
(April 24, 2008) How Much Lettuce Can You Consume? In and Around USM’s College of Business The recent USM presser about tourism management instructor Evelyn Kwan Green is also "twilight zone" like material. It seems that Green, who was only months ago teaching CoB faculty how to use the smartboards inside JAG as part of her duties for iTech, took a number of CoB TM majors to the Pascagoula River in order to teach them about the importance of eco-tourism. It's difficult to read pressers like Charmaine Williams Schmermund's above and not be reminded of then-USM provost Jay Grimes' Feb-07 letter to then-CoB dean Harold Doty asking Doty why the CoB's TM program had fallen off the proverbial cliff.
