faculty member, who sources say testified in a proceeding comprising a portion of that case. And, with that, you

with each passing day. The latest example of how far the CoB has sunk in the academic world is the fact that the
USM Police Department had to be called on 28-September-07 to investigate threats made by former CoB Dean
Harold Doty against another CoB faculty member.

(October 8, 2007) Special Report Memo to Martha, Part I A Look at Alvin Williams’ Role in the Mobbing of
Aug-07 Reporters at usmnews.net have received a copy of a memo sent by Interim CoB Dean Alvin Williams to
USM President Martha Saunders, through Interim Provost Bobby Middlebrooks, asking Saunders to terminate
the employment (at USM) of USMNEWS.NET editor and accounting professor, Marc DePree. Williams’ letter is
dated 21 August 2007, the same day that Saunders penned a letter to DePree advising DePree that he was being
relieved of his teaching and services responsibilities to USM during the fall 2007 semester.

Sources are telling reporters at USMNEWS.NET that Interim CoB Dean Alvin Williams has concluded his
investigation of the so-called “Doty incident.” Regular readers of USMNEWS.NET will recall that former CoB
Dean Harold Doty made threatening comments to economics professor Franklin Mixon in the hallway of JGH
on 28-Sept-07. In response to the confrontation, USM Police Officer Eric Lightsy was dispatched to Greene Hall
to conduct an investigation. Lightsy’s investigation was swift, and it was reported on by USMNEWS.NET days
