(September 14, 2007) 31st & Pearl Why Such a Difficult Time? We've all heard it, over and over again. Harold Doty telling those assembled at USF in September of 2005: "I have a difficult time using State E&G dollars to supplement faculty salaries." We've heard it so many times that you might even believe it. Well, don't. The record shows there's nothing "difficult" about it -- using State E&G dollars to boost faculty salaries, that is.
(September 14, 2007) 31st & Pearl Doty a Valuable Resource to Community and CoB I'm almost positive that Harold Doty's February 2007 prediction . that the stock market would be higher in late Aug-07 than it was after the "crash" of late Feb-07 . proved correct. And, that was the second of two comments about the NYSE that our own finance sage made back then to the reporter from The Hattiesburg American. The other? Markets go up, and markets go down.
(September 20, 2007) Dear USM News, No one should be surprised about the latest on the economics chairman, George Carter. By not allowing Ernest King to receive the “PQ” distinction, Carter and Harold Doty did put the college’s accreditation standing in jeopardy.
(September 24, 2007) CoB News, 24 September 2007 CoB Fundraising Grinds to Halt If you've wandered by the CoB's Development Office in recent weeks, you've noticed that the door is locked and the lights are off. That's because the CoB's fundraising officer, Emile Dieth, is now serving as the Interim Executive Director of USM's Foundation. Dieth's replacement, if there is to be one, has not reached Joseph Greene Hall yet. That means that whatever fundraising programs were underway when Dieth departed the CoB over the summer of 2007 are no longer operating at full throttle.
(October 1, 2007) Breaking News USM Police Called to Greene Hall for Second Time in 5 Months HATTIESBURG – Reporters at USMNEWS.NET have learned that a USM Police Officer was dispatched to Joseph Greene Hall on the afternoon of 28 September 2007 to report on a hallway encounter involving management professor Harold Doty.
(October 1, 2007) Breaking News Saunders Calls on Williams to Investigate "Doty Incident" HATTIESBURG -- Earlier today USMNEWS.NET reported that USM Police were dispatched to the CoB's home, Joseph Greene Hall, to report on an altercation involving former CoB Dean Harold Doty. Doty, a co-defendant in a federal court legal proceeding, reportedly threatened, verbally, another CoB faculty, and someone who served as a witness for the plaintiff in that very same federal court process. Now, reporters at USMNEWS.NET have just been informed that USM President Martha Saunders, another of the co-defendants in that federal case, has asked Interim CoB Dean Alvin Williams, yet a third member of the group of co-defendants in the federal proceeding, to investigate the episode involving Doty, their fellow co-defendant.
