(April 24, 2007) 31st & Pearl Schlockburg, MS 40907 Former CoB Dean D. Harold Doty came into the CBED in
July of 2003 spouting on about premier journal publications. He left the CoB on 9 April 2007 as Mayor of
Schlockburg.
(April 29, 2007) Gone Fishin’ When USM Provost Jay Grimes announced Harold Doty’s “resignation” from the
CoB Dean’s Office, he mentioned that Doty had expressed an interest in “fishing.” In the sport fishing arena,
as in the alternative use of the word “fishing,” there are different avenues one can take. While Doty night be in
a boat somewhere, this author supposes that Doty was making a poor attempt at cleverness. I think he’s
“fishing” for jobs. Doty’s opportunities, however, do mirror the traditional fishing avenues one might think
about.

(May 15, 2007) Who is Running the CoB? Ty Black “resigned” in 1997. Rod Posey was Interim Dean from 1997
to 1998. Bill Gunther was hired in 1998 and was fired in January 2003. Harold Doty was hired in June 2003 and
“resigned” in April 2007. Alvin Williams became Interim Dean in April 2007 and vows to leave that office by
July 2008.

(May 24, 2007) Will Harold Doty Get Off of the Hook? It's no secret in the CoB that the Feb-07 AACSB
Maintenance of Accreditation visit did not go as hoped for by CoB administrators and faculty. Former CoB
Dean D. Harold Doty, in his first job as Dean of a School or College of Business, did not come through at clutch
time. Instead, he folded like a bad hand in poker, and now, as a result, the CoB faces a continuing review
process wherein AACSB officials will return to Joseph Greene Hall in Feb-08

association with the Journal of Business Research has been the subject of a number of reports at usmnews.net.
With the arrival of the spring 2007 versions of the CoB’s Sedona vitae, it appears as though that “association”
continues to pay off for faculty in the CoB’s Management & Marketing Department.
