(September 8, 2006) Doty Did What??? "Soon after Harold Doty's arrival at USM, he began to dismantle the last vestiges of academic rigor in the USM CoB. These actions are largely outlined in the open letter recently posted at usmpride.com. As a recap, we want to revisit Doty's first official act to this end - he pushed the CoB faculty to remove the so called Junior Screen, the GPA requirement for admission to the upper division of the CoB. Doty said that the Junior Screen was indefensible and needed to be removed. After some discussion the CoB faculty voted to allow Doty his way. Big mistake...".
