(February 28, 2007) What was That? A Look at the "Crash of 2007" Out of nowhere in the late afternoon of 27 February 2007, CoB faculty and staff received the following e-mail from CoB Dean D. Harold Doty:
(March 1, 2007) Of Little Ability to Discern Looking at back at Alvin Williams’ Remarks about D. Harold Doty in June of 2003 CoB Dean Duane Harold Doty arrived in Hattiesburg as the CBED’s new Dean in the summer of 2003. Doty arrived to much fanfare. This report takes a look at the USM press release of June 2003 (below) describing the anticipation of Doty’s arrival.
(March 1, 2007) Dear Dean Doty, If you have something to say about usmpride.com and/or me, why don't you say it in writing to our readers? I believe the written word is more carefully considered and usually better reasoned than two people standing in the hallway calling each other “idiots”. (If you had any sense of humor we should have been laughing together over calling each other idiots, like a couple of kids. Of course, you called me an idiot first.)
(March 2, 2007) Always at the Scene What did George Carter Know about Laurie Babin's work on the Academic Integrity Policy, and when did he Know it? Investigators at USMPRIDE.COM have obtained an interesting document that
sheds new light on the CoB's "copy" of the Whitman School of Management's (Syracuse University) Academic Integrity Policy. A number of reports have been posted to this website in recent days showing that the CoB's Academic Integrity Policy was copied, the better part of word-for-word, from a document available on Syracuse University's website.
(March 2, 2007) 31st & Pearl The CoB's "Jungle Rules" Ethos At the beginning of his job interview presentation in September of 2005, CoB Dean Harold Doty told faculty and administrators at the University of South Florida that, when it came to asking questions during a presentation, he favors "jungle rules." Unfortunately, for those in the CoB, many of whom were digging out from under the devastation of Hurricane Katrina at the time Doty made this remark, "jungle rules" pretty much describes the CoB's ethos, in all things academic, since Doty's arrival in the summer of 2003.
(March 1, 2007) The editor just (about 12:15 pm) had the following childish conversation with Dean Doty:
DHD: Stop spreading lies.
CMD: I'm not.
DHD: Yes you are.
CMD: No I'm not.
DHD: Everybody's laughing at you.
CMD: Good. Enjoy it.
DHD: You' re an idiot.
CMD: You're the idiot.
DHD: No I'm not.
