STEVEN BUSHARDT, FORMER PROFESSOR OF
MANAGEMENT, CURRENT CHAIRMAN OF
MANAGEMENT, UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT TYLER
(February 7, 2007) What the AACSB Visit Team Had to Sense "It's no secret to visitors of this website that the
CoB's administration is engaged in a win at all costs war (blood sport) against a significant portion of the college's
faculty. What can sometimes get lost in all of this is the Balkanization of the CoB's administrative structure -- a fact
that was not likely lost on the CoB's AACSB visit team, or on the CoB's own AACSB consultant, Dr. Karen Ann
Tarnoff...".
(November 24, 2006) Special Report A Jury of Your Peers? An Investigation into the CoB Advisory Committee’s
Role in the Grievance Process This report takes a look at the CoB Advisory Committee’s role in the Faculty
Grievance process. This subject has sparked interest in usmpride.com readers since the filing of two separate
Grievances in recent weeks – one by professors Marc DePree and Tom Lindley, and another by professor
Franklin Mixon. Both of these Grievances were initiated against the actions of EFIB Chair George Carter, and the
details of both are available at usmpride.com.
(December 14, 2006) 31st & Pearl “Makin’ Their Way, the Only Way They Know How” Thanks to EFIB chairman
George Carter, we have now identified some of the CoB’s “good ole boys.” Those boys have been busy this year.
As we look back on the year of the “Letter of Agreement,” we must admit that our first guess about what the
group wants for management professor David Duhon was a little off.
(December 15, 2006) CoB 90210 A recent installment of the 31st & Pearl series (headline shown below) made
reference to an interesting theory about the Bushardt/Duhon CoB Faculty Handbook proposal that was passed on
8-Dec-06.
(January 8, 2007) An Island Series: Bushardt as a William Golding Resident or as Gilligan? Dr. Stephen Bushardt,
senior Management Professor, former CoB administrator, frequent kitchen cabinet member, and self-absorbed
king maker: undoubtedly he has been a busy telephone worker over the Christmas break. Doty calls on him for
his take on Carter’s transgressions, Carter’s calls seeking advice on what to do and when to do it, other toady calls
wanting inside information on the events and the fall-out from it, and, mostly, lots of time hand-wringing as he
ponders how to best benefit himself from this situation. This is the zenith of Bushardt-world: how can calamity,
chaos, and cacophony work for me?
