(November 5, 2007) Job Search Update, 5-Nov-07 There are a few new developments to report on
concerning the CoB's 2007-08 job searches. First, accounting is bringing in a number of finalists, starting
this week, in their efforts to fill two or more positions in the SAIS. These candidates are being brought in
to fill (presumably) vacancies created by the impending retirement of associate professor Marvin Albin
and the recent retirement of professor James Crockett. Both of these accountants have been the subjects
of numerous reports here at www.usmnews.net.
(May 27, 2008) 2007-2008 CoB Awards Another academic year draws to a close, it is time to look back
and salute some of the CoB faculty members would will not otherwise get their just rewards. The
following is a list of the major awards:
(May 29, 2008) The Albinator This is the story of USM's former School of Professional Accountancy
Director James Crockett's late 1990s depiction of Marvin Albin as a rising star in accounting. The story
begins on April 6, 1998, with Crockett's letter to then-Interim CBA Dean, Roderick Posey, requesting an
